SABINE KUSSMANN

Registered Psychotherapist, M.A. Counselling Psych., PMH-C

Sabine is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.

I have always had a passion for counselling, but started off my career in business marketing. My first experience in a counselling role, was when I created and led a support group for new mothers for a local breastfeeding clinic. After becoming a professionally trained new parent mentor and support volunteer with the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, it inspired me to transition my career into mental health counselling.

My recent experience in the mental health field includes providing a wide range of professional counselling services, however, my core strengths lie in working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidal ideations, post-partum mood disorders, occupational burnout and relationship challenges.

In my role as a psychotherapist, I take a person-centered, non-judgmental and empathetic approach with my clients. One of my favourite mottos that I like to apply in therapy is “start where you are; use what you have; do what you can.” In a collaborative manner, I work with my clients to firstly establish a solid therapeutic relationship and empower them to work through their struggles in order to effect positive change.

JOANNA MEISTER

JOANNA MEISTER

Registered Psychotherapist

Hons.BA, MA

Joanna is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.

She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

I have spent the last 25 years working in the social and human services sector after completing an education tailored to the work I was doing: Honours BA in Exceptionality in Human Learning and Women’s and Gender Studies along with a minor in Professional Writing and Communications.

I returned to school after 20 plus years and completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have specialized training in working with couples and individuals from an emotionally focused perspective. I work with individual clients whose fear or worry shows up at the worst possible times, and support couples who are both leaning in, want to stay together, and want to believe their relationship still has hope, as well as couples who are struggling to figure out what their direction is in their relationship. I support people to form loving connections and improve their relationships with their partner(s) as well as themselves. I meet them where they’re at and support them as well as their relationship. My training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) allows me to provide evidence-based interventions to support both individual clients and couples to create lasting change in their lives.

I work with individuals and couples, but also continue to stay connected to working with youth, tweens and teens as I did in the beginning of my career and have a particular passion for working with women to rediscover themselves after major life changes. I use an integrative approach to customize therapy to you: including self-compassion, mindfulness, attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Using a client-centered, strengths-based approach; we work to help build on the strengths people already hold and help them get moving forward.
